We left our beloved country because of religious persecution and oppression. We escaped Vietnam and are considered as the “boat people.”
I am a third generation Christian. My maternal grandparents accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior when Christianity was first introduced to Vietnam back in 1911. I have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior in 1981 at a Billy Graham Crusade in Boston, Massachusetts. My calling to the ministry started when I was on the little boat escaping from Vietnam. During that time out at sea, I became very dehydrated and had gotten very sick. I was eight years old at that time and I can recall my mother praying for my healing and also her asking me to pray. Even though this occurred over 30 years ago, I can still vividly recall that I prayed “God, if you spare my life, I promise I will serve you the rest of my life.” I believe God spared me and has a special purpose for my life. Throughout my years of elementary, junior and high school, God continued to put a passion in my heart in serving Him. After high school, I attended Southeastern University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Pastoral Ministry in 1991. In 1993, God has helped me to start the Vietnamese Church in Tarpon Springs, Florida. Then in 1999, I continued my pursuit of a higher education. I graduated with a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2007. I am very passionate about preaching and reaching people for the Kingdom of God. I am a visionary and a self-starter. I am not afraid of taking appropriate risks or stepping out of my comfort zone in order to make a difference for the Kingdom of God. This year I have completing my twelve as senior pastor at New Horizon Methodist Church in San Antonio, Florida
